The Mattie Hill Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors, and the Mattie Hill family is pleased to announce the appointment of George Heusel to the board. George has been an ardent supporter of the scholarship foundation since its inception. He is the grandson of Gar and Topsie Moore, the family Mattie was employed with for more than forty years.
George is a native of New Orleans who currently resides in Tacoma, Washington. He is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. During his career, he served as president of a fencing contractor and general manager of a telecom products distributor. He joined Cement Roadstone Holdings (CRH), a public limited company, in 1991 where he spent the bulk of his working career. While at CRH, he held a variety of general management and executive management positions. Most recently, he served as president of the Executive Solutions Group, a business encompassing twelve manufacturing locations across three countries with more than 700 employees. George retired from CRH in June 2019.
George is an avid runner and golfer, who enjoy spending time with family, reading, gardening, fitness and volunteering. He especially enjoys working with children in his capacity as a volunteer math tutor.
The board is very fortunate to have someone with George’s background and experience to assist with the effort to provide financial assistance to New Orleans area high school students in their pursuit to achieve the American dream through a college education.
