The Moore-Heusel family established the Betty Moore-Heusel Graduate Scholarship in 2021 to honor their mother, Betty.  She was the daughter of Gar and Topsie Moore, with whom Mattie was employed for more than 40 years.  During their lives, Mattie and Betty had a unique bond and they shared deep passions for their children, their faith, and their communities.  Betty was an enthusiastic supporter of the scholarship foundation since its inception.  Her passion for the mission of the foundation was the basis for the broader collaboration between the extended Hill and Moore-Heusel families to support the growth of the scholarship fund.  The graduate scholarship provides financial assistance to two Mattie Hill undergraduate scholars each year to pursue graduate/professional studies.
